Custom Kitchens for the Way You Actually Live

Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling in Austin & Dallas, TX

Full kitchen and bath remodels for Austin and Dallas homeowners — designed around how you really cook, host, and start the day. We handle design, demo, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, countertops, tile, and finishes under one roof.

About HN

Austin and Dallas’s go-to team for kitchens and baths.

For 14 years, HN Construction & Remodeling has rebuilt kitchens and bathrooms across Austin, Dallas, and the surrounding metros. Our work is design-first: every layout is finalized in 3D and signed off before demo day.

We coordinate the entire project in-house — design, demo, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, stone, tile, and finish work — under a single owner who stays on the project from first call to final walkthrough.

Our schedules are written, dated, and updated weekly. Our pricing is line-by-line. The number you sign is the number you pay; any changes you request are quoted in writing first.

That combination — clear design, clear schedule, clear pricing — is why most of our work comes from referrals.

Our Commitment

Three things you can count on, every project.

Precision Planning

Every layout, material, and finish is finalized in 3D before demo begins. You see the project before you live it — and we don’t start swinging hammers until you’ve approved the plan.

Honest Communication

Weekly written progress updates and a single point of contact for the entire build. No “your guy’s out today” surprises and no chasing for status.

Built to Last

Materials, fasteners, and detailing chosen specifically for Austin and Dallas conditions — heat, sun, summer storms, and the way Texans actually use a home.

Why HN

Why homeowners choose us over the next bid.

The most common complaint we hear from clients during a first consult: their last contractor went vague on the timeline, then disappeared mid-job, then came back asking for more money. We built our process specifically to avoid all three.

You get one written, dated schedule on day one. You get one point of contact for the whole build. You get a fixed-scope, line-item proposal — and any change order is in writing before work begins. The result is a remodel that finishes on time, at the number we quoted, with the finishes you actually approved.

Challenges We Solve

Challenges we solve every week.

The six things kitchen and bath clients tell us about most often — and how our process addresses each one.

Layouts that fight you every day

We start with how you actually move through the space — coffee in the morning, cooking with two people, hosting eight. The layout is finalized in 3D before a single wall comes down.

Storage that runs out before the groceries do

Custom pantry pull-outs, deep drawers for pots, hidden appliance garages, and toe-kick drawers for things you don’t want on the counter. Storage is designed around what you own.

Countertops that can’t handle real life

We help you pick a stone that matches how you actually cook. Quartzite for hot pans without worry, quartz for low maintenance, marble for the look — with honest trade-offs explained upfront.

Lighting that makes the kitchen feel small

Layered lighting — recessed for the room, under-cabinet for prep, pendants over the island, and dimmers everywhere. Done right, lighting transforms a kitchen more than any other single change.

Appliances a decade behind

We coordinate appliance selection and delivery so the new induction range, panel-ready fridge, and quiet dishwasher arrive when they’re needed and fit perfectly into the cabinetry.

Closed-off kitchens that feel disconnected

Open-concept conversions are one of our specialties. We engineer the structural changes (load-bearing walls, headers, beams) and coordinate flooring transitions so the new open space feels intentional, not patched together.

Everything Included

Everything included in an HN kitchen or bath project.

Design built around how you actually live

Every kitchen and bath project starts with how you really use the space — not a templated floor plan. We sketch options, then bring them to life with 3D renderings so you can see the finished result before any work begins.

Two or three design directions, refined together until the layout, materials, and lighting all feel right.

End-to-end project coordination

One in-house team manages the entire project — design, scheduling, trades, materials, and inspections. You get one point of contact and weekly progress updates.

  • Planning and 3D design
  • Plumbing, electrical, HVAC
  • Permits and inspections
  • Custom material orders
  • Install and finish work
  • Integration with the rest of your home

Transparent line-by-line pricing

Our proposals are written line-by-line — every cabinet, every tile, every fixture. No vague “allowances” that balloon mid-project. The number you sign is the number you pay (changes you request are quoted in writing before they happen).

Licensed & insured craftsmen on every project

Our crew is in-house — not a rotating cast of subcontractors. Every person on your project is licensed and insured under HN Construction & Remodeling, and an owner is on-site through every milestone.

Open-concept conversions, done right

Knocking down a wall is the easy part. Doing it without compromising the structure, transitioning the flooring cleanly, and ending up with a kitchen that actually works in the new layout — that’s the hard part. We engineer the load path, coordinate the structural work, and detail the finishes so the opened space feels intentional from day one.

They walked us through 3D renderings before a single cabinet was ordered, so we knew exactly what we were getting. The remodel landed within a few days of the date they promised.

We had a previous contractor walk off our bathroom mid-job. HN came in, finished it properly, and made it the best room in the house. Honest people, real craftsmanship.

The walk-in shower they built is gorgeous. Tile work is flawless, the niche came out exactly as designed, and there were no surprise charges at the end.

FAQ

Kitchen and bath remodel — questions we hear most.

What are the real benefits of remodeling my kitchen or bathroom?
A well-executed remodel does three things at once: it makes the space genuinely better to live in every day, it modernizes systems (plumbing, electrical, ventilation) that may be 20+ years old, and it adds resale value — typically the highest-ROI rooms in any home. We design for the first benefit and the others follow.
How long does a typical kitchen or bath remodel take?
Most kitchen remodels we run finish in 6–10 weeks of active construction, after a 2–4 week design and permitting phase. Bathrooms usually run 3–5 weeks. We give you a written, dated schedule before demo starts and update it weekly.
What does the design process look like?
It starts with a free in-home consultation. From there we produce 3D renderings of your space with two or three layout options, walk you through trade-offs, and refine until you can picture yourself standing in the finished room. Only then do we write a final, line-item proposal.
Can I stay in my home during the remodel?
For bathroom remodels: usually yes — we set up dust barriers and protect adjacent rooms. For kitchens: yes, but most clients set up a temporary kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge) in another room. We always discuss this in the planning phase.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. We pull all required permits with the City of Austin, City of Dallas, and surrounding municipalities, schedule inspections, and handle any plan-review feedback. You don’t talk to the city — we do.
What cabinet, countertop, and tile options do you offer?
For cabinetry: semi-custom and fully custom, in painted, stained, or rift-sawn finishes. Countertops: quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, and butcher block. Tile: porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and zellige. We help you select based on use, budget, and durability — not just looks.
What does a typical kitchen or bath remodel cost?
Mid-range kitchen remodels in our market typically run $55,000–$120,000+ depending on scope and finish level. Bathrooms run $20,000–$60,000+. We give you a fixed-scope proposal so you know the number before signing.
Do you offer financing?
We work with several home-improvement financing partners and can introduce you to lenders who specialize in remodel projects. Most clients combine cash with a HELOC or renovation loan — we’re happy to talk through what makes sense for you.
